Not Sure Where to Start? You’re Not Alone

For some families, the need for care arrives suddenly, following a fall, a hospital stay or a sudden change in health. For others, it’s a gradual realisation that things at home are becoming harder to manage.

Wherever you are in that process, it helps to feel informed. Our guide to the different types of care is a good place to start, or you can speak to our team directly to think it through, without pressure.

Understanding Care Home Fees and Funding

The cost of care depends on the type of accommodation and level of support required. We understand that funding can be confusing, so we’re here to explain your options clearly.

Self-Funding

If you are paying for your own care, our team can explain the weekly fees, what's included and any additional charges.

Local Authority Funding

Depending on your financial circumstances and assessed care needs, you may be eligible for financial support from your local council.

NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC)

If you have significant ongoing healthcare needs, you may qualify for care fully funded by the NHS, subject to an eligibility assessment.

NHS-Funded Nursing Care (FNC)

If you require care from a registered nurse in a nursing home, the NHS may contribute towards the nursing care costs, subject to eligibility.

We’re Here to Help

Every situation is different. Our friendly team can explain our fees and help you understand where to seek advice about available funding options.

Step by step

Moving Into a Care Home

Moving into a care home is a big step, and we understand that it can feel overwhelming for residents and their families. Our friendly team is here to make the transition as smooth, comfortable and reassuring as possible.

  1. 1

    Getting to Know You

Before moving in, we'll arrange a care assessment to understand your loved one's health, personal needs, preferences and daily routines. This helps us ensure we can provide the right level of care and support.

  2. 2

    Planning the Move

Once we've agreed that the home can meet your loved one's needs, our team will guide you through the admission process, explain the fees and help with any necessary paperwork. We'll work with you to make the move as straightforward as possible.

  3. 3

    Settling Into Your New Home

We know that familiar surroundings and routines matter. Residents are encouraged to bring personal belongings, photographs and favourite items to make their room feel like home.

Our caring team will take time to help each resident settle in, build friendships and feel comfortable in their new surroundings.

  4. 4

    Ongoing Care & Family Support

Our support doesn't stop after moving day. We regularly review each resident's care needs, encourage family involvement and keep loved ones informed, helping everyone feel reassured and connected.
